"Training for Strength Together"
We teach practical, reality-based self-defence through BJMA Zen Do Kai — a modern, evolving system that builds real-world skills, confidence, discipline, and resilience.
niten dojo
Opened on 5 June 2025, Niten Dojo’s is one of South Australia’s newest Zen Do Kai clubs, led by Kyoshi Don Passmore (6th Dan).
The dojo was established following the transition of Don’s lifelong instructor and mentor, Soke John Leondaris (10th Dan), from regular teaching duties. Under the guidance of Kyoshi Don Passmore (6th Dan), Niten Dojo’s carries forward decades of experience while building for the future.
The Meaning of “Niten”
The name “Niten” draws inspiration from Niten Ichi Ryu, the legendary two-sword school founded by Miyamoto Musashi. While it literally refers to “two swords,” the word Niten also represents dual perspectives — the understanding that there is always more than one way to approach a challenge.
This philosophy is at the heart of our dojo: a place of continual learning, growth, and refinement.
WANT MORE INFO ?
To develop a community of martial artists who set the standard for strength of character, practical skill, and leadership — both inside and outside the dojo.
To build a thriving community of martial artists who stand out as examples of true strength — not only in their physical capabilities, but in the depth of their character, leadership, and resilience both inside and outside the dojo.
“Niten” — recognising that there is always more than one way forward
At Niten Dojo’s, our mission is to deliver practical, reality-based self-defence through the BJMA Zen Do Kai system, blending traditional Japanese martial arts foundations with progressive techniques drawn from boxing, Muay Thai, Jujutsu, and beyond. Under the expert guidance of Kyoshi Don Passmore, we are dedicated to developing strong, disciplined, and resilient individuals who possess not only effective fighting skills, but also the confidence, awareness, and mental fortitude to navigate real-world challenges. By embracing the “two perspectives” philosophy of Niten, we encourage our students to train with adaptability, continual self-improvement, and a deep respect for the art — empowering them to grow as martial artists and as people, both on and off the training floor.
